I spent most of my life on a golf course. I am a two-time winner of the Women’s West Texas Golf Championship & I was a scholarship golfer for the New Mexico State University women’s golf team in Las Cruces. My father—a former collegiate golf All-American, PGA Tour professional & World Senior golf champion—gave me an early and lasting love of the game.

“designsgirl” was founded in 2003—a graphic design company specializing in corporate logo design. I became enamored with calligraphy several years later & incorporated calligraphy into my business while studying with renowned Boulder, Colorado artist Laurie Doctor & other artists whose work I admire.

I am a member of the American Institute of Graphic Arts (AIGA), the Colorado Calligraphers’ Guild & a member of IAMPETH, the International Association of Master Penmen, Engrossers and Teachers of Handwriting.

I hold a Master of Business Administration degree from NMSU. I am a designer for Bella Figura, an artisan letterpress company in Syracuse, New York & provide calligraphy services to its sister company Smock Paper.

In the spring of 2011, I became a member of Crane & Co.'s stationery design team, providing calligraphy for its engraved stationery products.

Creative inspiration comes from my precious pack of husband Shawn & our two adopted Golden Retrievers—Garner and Gibson. We live in Castle Rock, Colorado with views of the majestic Rocky Mountains and Pike’s Peak.
